Senior Financial Engineer (Boston, MA)
The Senior Financial Engineer will leverage advanced knowledge of finance and financial engineering to contribute to providing strategic direction to the Company’s financial and investment-based product development, particularly in the areas of risk analytics, quantitative strategies, and index validation. Specific duties include:
· Drive the research and development of new financial products and services, including the creation of quantitative models and risk management tools.
· Lead the design and implementation of next-generation financial analytics systems, enhancing the Company’s competitive edge.
· Assist with the leadership and oversight of quantitative financial engineering projects, from conception through deployment, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.
· Collaborate closely with senior management to align the execution of financial engineering projects with business goals and client needs.
· Act as a key technical contact for the Company’s larger financial and investment-based clients, addressing complex inquiries and providing expert advice on the Company's offerings.
· Represent the Company at industry conferences and events, contributing thought leadership and insights into emerging trends in financial engineering.
· Calculate valuations of financial options and their option Greeks, ensuring accuracy and alignment with industry standards.
· Create, analyze, and validate quantitative investment strategies (QIS) and financial derivatives indices.
· Develop and automate index validation software/systems to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the Company’s processes.
· Translate complex index methodologies into code, allowing for historical back tests and real-time analytics applications.
· Provide technical and financial mentorship to financial engineers.
May telecommute 100% of workweek.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Financial Engineering or closely related quantitative field, plus one (1) year of experience performing financial analysis and engineering activities within the finance and investment sector. Experience, which may be gained concurrently and prior to, during or after advanced degree, must include:
· One (1) year of experience performing financial index development, validation, management, software development for finance-related systems.
· One (1) year of experience working with enterprise-grade software development within finance/investment applications, including Python, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Bash.
· One (1) year of experience working with cloud computing services including AWS.
· One (1) year of experience conducting derivatives risk analysis, with focus on options, volatility, volatility surfaces, and all other associated options.
